MOJITOP.COM is just a group of friends rooted in Barcelona, who would like to contribute to improve the level of the mojitos in the city.
We like to do expeditions in the city, and sometimes we invite the blog followers.
If you have suggestions, you are more than welcome to share them with us too!
We like to "conquer" Bars, which means to visit them and evaluate their mojitos.
About barris, we often visit Gràcia, Poble Sec, Raval and Born, but we've also been to more exotic places like Eixample and Barceloneta.
To explore all the possibilities, we also try out different recipes for mojitos and their variations.
Also from time to time we'll report on curisities related to mojitos, like the mojitos we taste in other cities.
Interviews and stories about interesting people are in this blog.

A queue for cocktails in Rome

I spent the weekend in Rome, where I got to visit the peculiar cocktail bar Bum Bum di Mel, which has an orderly queuing system for cocktails. First you get in the queue to order and pay, then they give you a number and you wait with the crowd in the street, carefully watching the digital number panel displaying when your turn will come. For being Rome, this is an amazingly orderly structure. Of course the cocktails are not prepared in the order they were ordered – that would be just too organized – but you have to keep a constant eye on the display for the 15 minutes it can take to get your drink. When we finally got our plastic cups with mojitos, I wished I had ordered one of their specialities, like the daiquiris, instead. The mojito consisted of 10 cl of white rum and 5 cl ginger ale, with some mint and berries on top, and big ice cubes floating around. It did not taste bad, but it was not a mojito. Anyway, I recommend the place for the experience at the beginning of a crazy evening – you sure get your money worth.
