MOJITOP.COM is just a group of friends rooted in Barcelona, who would like to contribute to improve the level of the mojitos in the city.
We like to do expeditions in the city, and sometimes we invite the blog followers.
If you have suggestions, you are more than welcome to share them with us too!
We like to "conquer" Bars, which means to visit them and evaluate their mojitos.
About barris, we often visit Gràcia, Poble Sec, Raval and Born, but we've also been to more exotic places like Eixample and Barceloneta.
To explore all the possibilities, we also try out different recipes for mojitos and their variations.
Also from time to time we'll report on curisities related to mojitos, like the mojitos we taste in other cities.
Interviews and stories about interesting people are in this blog.

Mojitos at Polaroid - could it be the best mojito in Barcelona?

Pot ser el millor mojito en Barcelona?
¿Puede ser el mejor mojito en Barcelona?

  • Rum: Negrita blanco

  • Lime
  • Angostura
  • 2 spoons of brown sugar
  • For the fruity mojitos: pieces of kiwi and orange, respectively
In the gothic quarters of Barcelona, most bars serve mojitos but of highly distinct qualities. Looking at our map, this part of the city is full of green tags. However, now we have found one bar that outclasses them all, a bar whose mojitos gave us palatial bliss: Polaroid.

In this spacious bar, tastefully (yes it is possible) decorated with 80's memorabilia, 4 mojitos were on the menu: classic, kiwi, orange and mango. We went for the classic along with a kiwi and an orange. Then we snuck up to the cocktail corner to observe the bartenders work in action. Just watching turned out to be a pleasure, as she prepared the mojitos with confidence and care, finally shaking the mojito in a cocktail shaker to distribute the cold and the flavours. The ice was well crushed, and the mint leaves fresh and green. The visual result bode for a good experience.

And yes! At the first sip, we all looked at each other: wow, this one is great. We recommend all the 3 flavours. The classic was just that perfect combination of mint, lime, rum and sugar that we long for. The orange mojito was a savoury, fruity treat. The kiwi mojito carried a tang to cherish. A great thanks to Eduard for recommending Polaroid - we will for sure be back!
