MOJITOP.COM is just a group of friends rooted in Barcelona, who would like to contribute to improve the level of the mojitos in the city.
We like to do expeditions in the city, and sometimes we invite the blog followers.
If you have suggestions, you are more than welcome to share them with us too!
We like to "conquer" Bars, which means to visit them and evaluate their mojitos.
About barris, we often visit Gràcia, Poble Sec, Raval and Born, but we've also been to more exotic places like Eixample and Barceloneta.
To explore all the possibilities, we also try out different recipes for mojitos and their variations.
Also from time to time we'll report on curisities related to mojitos, like the mojitos we taste in other cities.
Interviews and stories about interesting people are in this blog.

Mojitos @ La Granja de Gavà- another watery-ultra-sweet mojito

Address: Joaquim Costa 37 (Raval) 08001 BARCELONA

Average mark - 6,04 (evaluated by 3 mojixp's and 1 babymoji - if you want to know the differences between ones and the others, please check here)
Price: 6,5 €

The bar claims to be the birthplace of Terenci Moix, a Catalan writer that wrote both in Spanish and Catalan.
(Just to be clear, mojitop doens't think this fact has anything to do with the quality of the mojito - but we add this little bits of extra information of the bars because we think it's always nice to know a bit more :))

The ingredients:

- Small, round glass
- White rum - Bacardi
- Long "orchateria" straw
- Mint
- White sugar
- Small cubes
Nope - there was no lime!! - We're running lately into bars who serve those watery-ultra sweet mojitos! And usually that also means there's no lime or lemon juice or even Pulco (concentrated lemon juice).

We said it in the previous post - and we will not get tired of repeating it : The recipe of a mojito isn't sugar-water-rum and some leaves of mint!!
It's not a nice or refreshing mixture - because it becomes something sooo sweet that you end up getting even more thisty afterwards!!

The bar was nicely decorated, the tables were the same ones you can find in the "old" bars - marble tables with metallic legs - some of them had little metallic plates with names of ...well,we don't know who they were to be honest.. probably writers.

There were some nice lamps, some candles, some statues - the decoration looked sort of classy - all in all the place was nice in a way.
